Planning shifts in regional rail transport is extremely complicated because it depends on tariff agreements, legal requirements, local conditions and the timetable in conjunction with the associated dynamics (roadworks, delays).
Added to this are staff shortages and the extreme dependence on expert knowledge.
Goal
Development of software for the automatic planning of shifts for train drivers and conductors in local rail passenger transport (SPNV).
Solution
Complevo has developed powerful optimization algorithms that are able to create shift planning for days and weeks completely automatically, taking all framework conditions into account.
We have developed flexible planning software around the algorithms in order to flexibly model all the necessary conditions and control the optimization.

The calculated optimized shift plans are available in a short time and save considerable effort (a few days instead of several weeks) in their creation.
